When the human factor is part of a company's DNA

Christian Glitscher is the CEO.
IT ALL STARTED WITH A CHALLENGE
About a year ago, our customer Gateway Cargo faced a challenge: How can we increase our efficiency without changing our essence? This is a question that concerns more than just logistics companies. The shortage of skilled workers is putting increasing pressure on the industry, because now more than ever, people and their skills are at the center of the working world. The following success story proves why this approach is the leading path to a successful company.
A new Start with potential
But let's start at the beginning: Gateway Cargo pressed the reset button in 2025. And it did so in March, the month of new beginnings. Replacing all the hardware and software sounded like a mammoth task, even to Gateway Cargo CEO Christian Glitscher. So he wanted to get everything right when onboarding new TMS software — a software that understands people. He found what he was looking for in Scope. The path to us was very simple: communication on equal terms. This credo has been the driving force behind Gateway Cargo's business since its inception and is also an essential part of the joint success story with Scope. Despite his role, Christian likes to be in the thick of things and face to face with his employees. It didn't take them long to win him over to Scope.
"It was a really smooth process. I always enjoy our contact. Since our initial meeting, we have maintained frequent contact and regular communication. We both really appreciate that."
- Philipp Person, Senior Sales Manager, Riege Software
Onboarding AT ITS FINEST
The implementation process was extremely straightforward, as it involved a well-established collaboration. Scope's digital standard was able to reliably meet the needs of the customer. Not least because Scope is designed to meet the most common and urgent requirements. Thanks to its close strategic partnership with INVENTRY, Scope offers an even more extensive range of services, which also came into play during the onboarding process at Gateway Cargo. INVENTRY specializes in the essential adjustments, for example in the user and login process. The integration between Riege and INVENTRY ensures secure, smooth operation from day one. Especially when the business thrives on saving time, it is important to prevent potential stumbling blocks from arising in the first place. This is precisely why the onboarding at Gateway Cargo proved to be so effortless and successful.
A PROMISING RELATIONSHIP
The key factor in the newly established customer relationship is the clear advantage for both sides. A lot has happened since Scope was established as a TMS solution. The many possibilities for automating and simplifying tedious, daily processes have taken the greatest burden of day-to-day business off the shoulders of employees. No more monotonous transfer of freight documents, no more time-consuming creation of repetitive customs processes. The order mask has impressed employees from the very beginning. Automation has been implemented exactly where it is most effective. “A real game changer in order entry,” says Christian. But what does that mean for Gateway Cargo less than a year later?
"I would definitely recommend Scope to any small or medium-sized company in Germany because the internal structures are such a good fit. Whether you have 2, 3, 4, or, like us, 40 employees. They simply interact with you on a person-to-person basis."
- Christian Glitscher, CEO, Gateway Cargo
The initial results are impressive
First and foremost: satisfaction. Among customers and employees alike. This is not only palpable, it can also be measured in terms of low staff turnover and customer praise. “That's the cornerstone. Without my employees, there is no service. Without satisfactory service, there is no business success,” says Christian. A tree is only as strong as its roots, which makes sense. But there is another positive aspect to switching to Scope TMS: cost efficiency. For Christian, it's already clear: “Where it used to take 10-15 minutes to process an order, today it's more like 2.” This shows him once again why investing in a new system was worthwhile, but also why it will pay off over the years. “At this level, it's definitely worth the investment. Quality has its price, and I'm willing to pay it. For myself and for my employees.” After just under a year with Scope, Christian can see that efficient order processing not only reduces personnel costs, but is also more profitable overall.
TWO COMPANIES, ONE DNA
Last but not least, Gateway Cargo and Scope by Riege Software share similar corporate values, as personal contact and communication on a common level are also top priorities at Riege. Christian is happy to start the new business year with Scope as his TMS. He greatly appreciates the fact that his individual customer requests, which arise during the collaboration, are not ignored but are quickly implemented in the application. This is not least because Riege takes his suggestions seriously. On a human level. "A chatbot can never cover that. You just know how we tick. That kind of empathy has become rare," says Christian. That's why he has already booked a refresher training course for his team on all the basic functions of Scope. This is not only worthwhile in order to bring everyone's knowledge up to speed through training, but also to break new ground in quotation preparation and achieve goals even more efficiently. We at Scope look forward to working with you, dear GatewayCargo team! Here's to another successful series with Scope as your choice for a TMS with heart and soul.
