2025 – A year of connected confidence | End of year blog

2025 will be remembered as the year in which the dust settled and the view ahead finally sharpened. After years of shifting landscapes, accelerating technologies, and an industry constantly caught between urgency and uncertainty, this year brought a sense of alignment – not by coincidence, but by consequence.

It was a year that reminded us that progress is not only measured in features released or milestones reached, but in the clarity that emerges when experience, innovation, and community begin to move in the same direction.

For us, 2025 marked the point where our long-standing principles – reliability, openness, and the unswerving belief that logistics software should serve people, not the other way around – fully converged with the expectations of a global industry in transition.

And with transition comes responsibility – to build on what works, to challenge what doesn’t, and to ensure that the progress we make is felt not only in systems and screens, but in the daily lives of those who move goods, manage flows, solve exceptions, and keep the global economy in motion.

40 years of Riege: A milestone with a forward view

It’s impossible to talk about this year without mentioning the number 40. Forty years of Riege Software. Forty years of building, rebuilding, occasionally stumbling – but always moving.

Our anniversary celebration in Munich – woven into the energetic backdrop of the transport logistic fair – was never meant as a nostalgic exercise. It was a gathering for those who truly make Scope what it is: our customers, partners, and friends. A moment to share stories, exchange ideas, and reaffirm that longevity only matters when it stays relevant. And relevance only matters when it serves a community.

The stories from four decades were not told to celebrate the past, but to illuminate the path ahead — a path shaped by consistency, conviction, and the belief that logistics should be simpler, smarter, and more human.

And while Munich belonged to our community, our own people celebrated in a place only a few miles away from our headquarter: the Riege summer party at Gare du Neuss – a moment of togetherness, pride, and gratitude for everyone who carries Riege, Scope and the community forward every day.

Inside Scope 2025: A gathering built for growth

Inside Scope 2025 evolved far beyond a company event. It became a place where real questions were asked, real challenges dissected, and real progress made. From digital standards for multimodal transport to discussions about customs, finance workflows, compliance, connectivity, and the global realities of cross-border freight, the event showed one thing clearly:

Scope is not growing because we push it forward. It is growing because the community pulls it into the future. Workshops overflowed. Conversations moved from conference rooms to hallways to dinner tables. Long-time users met newcomers, and newcomers discovered why long-time users stay.

Inside Scope has become exactly what it was intended to be: A forum. A meeting point. A shared space for people who gather for growth – or in other words: the heartbeat of the Scope Community.

Global realities, local rewards

2025 also made globalisation unmistakably tangible. Customer conversations – whether in Europe, Asia, the Americas or elsewhere – reflected the same underlying challenges: rising compliance pressures, volatile supply chains, rapidly changing corridors, and the relentless need for efficiency.

Digitalisation is no longer an option. It is the baseline. Transparency is no longer a luxury. It is expected. Systems that connect seamlessly are no longer a competitive advantage. They are a requirement.

Scope’s continuing expansion into new markets confirmed what we already sensed in the past years: We are no longer a regional solution. We are becoming a global standard – one built not on scale alone, but on continuity, adaptability and trust.

This is why we were able to grow once again in 2025 – against all global odds, driven by the unwavering dedication of our people and partners, and by the enduring trust of our customers in Riege and in Scope, which in itself is already a reward.

People remain the difference

Despite all the talk about automation, data orchestration, and AI one truth remained constant in 2025: technology alone does not transform industries – people do.

Teams who pushed Scope forward, one thoughtful step at a time. Customers who challenged us to question assumptions and aim higher. Partners who extended our reach across borders and time zones. The Scope community that continues to grow in both depth and spirit.

These connections remain the true essence of everything we build and everything we stand for – with human at the heart of our mind: standardization and sustainability, effectiveness and efficiency, availability and accessibility.

A new chapter in April: Welcoming Johannes Riege jr.

On April 1, Johannes Riege jr. joined Riege Software – a moment that added both continuity and fresh perspective to the company.

Bachelor and Master in mathematics with a professional background in data analysis as well as product development and management, Johannes jr. brings a sharp analytical mind and hands-on leadership experience. His path toward Riege began in late 2022, when he realised that while the company was thriving, he wanted to be part of its daily work and future direction. After completing key responsibilities at his former company and welcoming his third child in late 2024, the timing was finally right.

Today, as Advisor to the Management, he focuses on finance, controlling, strategic topics, pricing, and the revenue-share models of the international branches. His structured, calm approach adds clarity where complexity meets decision-making.

Johannes jr. joins not just as the next generation, but as a fully formed professional voice – strengthening the company’s foundation for the years ahead.

A new chapter in December: Matanja van der Wart named Operations Manager at Riege NL

After ten years of dedicated commitment to Riege, to Scope, and to the Scope Community, Matanja van der Wart was appointed Operations Manager of Riege NL as of December 1, 2025.

When Matanja joined Riege in December 2015, she stepped into a world that immediately felt like home for her. She loved the product, the precision, the quality standards – and most of all, she loved the people: the colleagues from all over the world who shaped her journey, the customers who bring Scope to life every day, and the community that grew stronger with every collaboration.

From the very beginning, she felt something she still believes today: Scope connects worlds – businesses, systems, and the human beings behind them.

Now, following in the footsteps of Henk Boorsma and Martin Bos, Matanja carries forward a legacy built on trust, partnership, and deep respect as well as love for the logistics world. Their work laid the foundation for the Scope Community in the Benelux, and she is determined to strengthen and expand it with the same integrity and heart. And as we all know, Matanja’s journey reflects exactly that.

The road ahead: 2026 and then

As 2025 comes to a close, one thing has become unmistakably clear: our strength lies not only in powerful technology, but in the network of people who choose to shape the future of logistics together with us. What carried us through this year – and what will guide us into the next – is the confidence that comes from connection: connection to our customers, to our partners, to the community, and to one another.

Every improvement in Scope, every collaboration with our users, and every conversation that sparked a better understanding has strengthened the foundation on which we stand. It has made us more focused, more aligned, and more certain of our mission.

We will continue to build technology that empowers people. We will continue to grow a community that grows with us. And we will continue to stand for values that do not shift with the wind.

The world of logistics, however, will continue to change. New standards will rise, new expectations will emerge, and new challenges will test the resilience of our industry. Yet we face this future with momentum – because we are not moving alone.
