Scope secures safety at sea pronto
Release 8.2 ready for Verified Gross Mass (VGM) according to SOLAS new rule.
On July 1, 2016, the new SOLAS rule for Verified Gross Mass (VGM) of containers will come into force. Although there is a three-month grace period, Scope will be VGM ready and on time with its 8.2 release. Secure processing of orders and safety aboard vessels at sea ranks above all else.
Entry of all necessary data is provided in the container editor. By default, the Gross Weight (Container Tax-Weight plus Loaded Weight) will be recognized as the VGM. Date of weighing is equal to the date of entry. The operator in charge will be identified as the responsible person. All information can be edited should the responsible person or data need to be changed.
When ready, the VGM information will be transmitted via DAKOSY within the B/L, or via INTTRA, GT-Nexus and CargoSmart within B/L instructions. The VGM details are also printed on the B/L instruction or the B/L itself for those shipping lines that are not accessible via an interface.
