Scope at 2 Achieve

Michael Konijnenberg, Owner at 2 Achieve in Amsterdam, January 2012

Mr. Konijnenberg, 2 Achieve is a young company with special services for the forwarding industry. What is your strategy?

Odaccar Blokker and myself founded the company in 2010. We both benefit from years of experience and a global network in air freight forwarding and logistics. We are true specialists in anything that is not standard. When shipments require special knowledge, handling, equipment, speed, documentation or packaging then 2 Achieve is a perfect fit. We cover the market for airfreight charters, very urgent shipments, on board courier services, road express service and other logistics solutions. 2 Achieve feels very comfortable when complicated logistics matters need to be solved, especially when time is critical.

We are a young, dynamic, eager and professional team of experienced and qualified logistics experts acting as a neutral agent only! Our commitment, speed and reliability have been well-accepted by the market. We are growing fast and extending our services.

When did you decide to go for Scope?

Right from the start we chose Scope. 2 Achieve very much appreciates innovation, short lines and reliable contacts. The transport management system is like the heartbeat of our company, you must have an eye on it. The features of Scope as well as the Riege team were very compelling for us. They exactly know what a forwarder needs and implemented modifications for us within a tight schedule, for instance VAT regulations and special documents for air freight. So we were already fully operational with Scope for air import and air export end of October 2010, in 2011 we added Sagitta export.

What are the main benefits of Scope for you?

Generally speaking, Scope has been developed from the angle of the users, the operational and administration setup is very convenient, easy to work with, gives you a perfect overview, and has brilliant filters. The system works very efficiently, you can change from one application to another without losing data you have entered, you have just one shipment file for a job where you can find all relevant information, emails etc. You can even add pictures for documentation. Charges for air freight export shipments are automatically taken into the invoice. The system is directly connected with our accounting software and with Dutch customs. We can generate AWBs for any of our customers individually with just a click of a button.

2 Achieve was the first Scope customer in the Netherlands. Are you satisfied with the service?

Absolutely, yes. We are very satisfied with the attention we got as a start-up company. In addition to the features of Scope there is another big advantage of Riege: the passion of the people behind the system, in the Dutch office as well as in the support team in Düsseldorf. They really understand your needs and respond quickly.

What do forwarders gain by using 2 Achieve?

2 Achieve is able to deliver added value on all levels to the forwarding industry. We are convinced that this added value will only work when you position yourself as a neutral partner/agent. With our experience even in remote areas of the world and our global network of partners and agents, we are fully dedicated to the needs of our clients. We are a remote trouble shooter for our clients if you like. Many Dutch forwarders have already experienced that for their very urgent and special shipments they can rely on 2 Achieve.

Speed and reliability are the keywords that make 2 Achieve different from most others. Pro-activity and timely communication are key values put into daily practice. Always inform the customer immediately when changes occur to the original agreement. Our passion "2 Achieve" and exceed expectations is in our genes.

What are your next projects at 2 Achieve?

In September 2011 we founded 2 Achieve Customs Solutions B.V., as a dedicated service agent and specializing in all customs related activities. In addition to this our Dutch customers benefit from our courier service with our own vehicles, which we established in August 2011. 2 Achieve Customs Solutions and 2 Achieve Couriers are the main projects that will have our highest attention in 2012 for development and positioning in the market.

Scope at GlobCon Logistics

Jacques de Jong, Director at in Amsterdam, August 2011

Mr. de Jong, what services does Globcon offer its customers?

GlobCon Logistics is a private owned company, which was founded in Doha-Qatar in 2005. Today GlobCon is one of the Middle East’s leading providers of logistics, transportation and distribution services with a widespread global partnership network. The GlobCon Logistics Benelux office located at Amsterdam airport is the group’s foothold for Europe. Here we offer air & ocean import and export service as well as pan-European trucking, warehousing and worldwide door-to-door services. The customers benefit from our in-depth experience and our proactive attitude. We offer truly integrated logistics solutions tailored to meet the customers’ operational and business demands – 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Since when do you use Scope of Riege Software International?

We started with Scope right from the opening of our Benelux office in January 2011. Before we had tested several systems and found that other systems are not as capable as Scope. To me it seems that there is no progress in other service providers’ systems, they are not as innovative as Riege is with Scope.

In which operational area do you use Scope?

Currently we use the Scope modules for air import, air export, sea import, sea export and the Sagitta export module for Dutch customs with 5 users.

What is your experience so far?

Scope is a very mature system, all practical things work very well. You always have all relevant data for any job or shipment at hand, there are lots of very intelligent functions which ease our daily work significantly. Our users didn’t even need much training because the system is so user-friendly and self explanatory. And we benefit of Riege’s excellent, fast and experienced support and service.

Do you plan to extend your Riege solutions further?

Definitely yes, we have very ambitious growth plans, however depending on the global economic development. First step will be to implement Scope in our Head Office in Doha and then roll it out in all branch offices. New offices are planned in USA, China, UK and Germany. We also plan to use the Scope warehouse module and the full customs application.

We are using Procars for air and ocean freight management and documentation. This enables us to handle easily all processes in our branch offices, with our customers and with all parties involved. The quality of our data is excellent since we are all using the same data base generated in Procars. This helps to avoid mistakes and in the end saves money and strengthens our market position.

Are you satisfied with the product?

We are very satisfied with the products and we also appreciate Riege will always look into customized solutions to satify our requirements. You know, there are only two ways when it comes to software: either you adapt your processes to the software or you adapt the software to your specific requirements, which we went for. With our partner Riege Software International we were very successful in doing this.

What are the strengths of Procars compared to other systems?

Scope at TransHorse

Christine Fuchs, Managing Director at TransHorse in Dissen, August 2010

Mrs Fuchs, what exactly does TransHorse do in Dissen?

We offer our clients professional air transport of horses. For our team full service means preparation, organization and management of the entire transport chain. Our international portfolio covers, for example, horse transportation from Sylt to Sydney or from Barbados to Bordeaux. The well-being of the horses is always the primary concern for us. Above all, this means a smooth journey. It is important that all the required documents that accompany them on their journey are correctly filled out and are available in good time so that the animals do not have to wait unnecessarily. The veterinary service checks laboratory tests, health certificates, the quarantine status and the transfer from the home stall to the airport. The customs office also expects 100% correctly completed documents; otherwise there will be unnecessary complications for the animals’ entry and exit. Thanks to our wide-ranging expertise in this sector and correct preparations our transports are carried absolutely reliably around the world.

In which area do you use Scope?

We use the Riege software for air freight exports and imports, create the necessary documents for the transportation of the animals, carry out the customs registration and clearance and even use the program for invoicing. This is all quick and easy thanks to the intuitive usage. Scope helps even inexperienced staff to make a customs registration quickly and correctly. The program reacts immediately if an incorrect entry is made. It clearly shows anyone what needs to be done to eliminate the mistake. The customs officials who are responsible for us are very satisfied with the documents we create. This is important because a horse is not a normal kind of shipment like a simple parcel. Horses are prepared for transportation on a precise day. If there is a delay of just one day, then serious problems can result or the whole process can come to a halt!

Are you satisfied with the product?

After a very short introductory phase we were quickly able to use the program ourselves. The Riege service team always answered our questions quickly and competently! This logistics software really represents value for money and I can really only recommend it.

Which solution did you use before and why did you change?

We are still a very new company and we have used Scope right from the start.

In which situations has Scope helped you in particular?

Scope always helps! Even with tricky tasks that had to be solved under time pressure Scope was always a reliable partner for us. You simply cannot do anything wrong because the program automatically shows you the right way. For example, at the beginning of my work, I had a call from a client in Seattle late in the evening. “The consignee has a different address,” they said. What was I supposed to do? I was still setting up the company and had only completed a couple of Airway Bills with the help of the Riege Software International staff. Thanks to the software the new entry worked first time! The four horses landed punctually in Los Angeles and after the arrival quarantine they continued their journey to the new home stall in Seattle! Our entire team would like to thank all the Riege Software staff for their first-class customer care. The service is unbeatable!

Scope at Logwin Solutions Media

Wilhelm Hülpüsch, Head of Aircargo Solutions Media at Logwin in Frankfurt, July 2010

Mr Hülpüsch, what exactly does Logwin Solutions Media do in Frankfurt?

As an external partner the Logwin Group develops integrated logistics and service solutions for the industrial and retail sectors. As a highly integrated logistics service provider Logwin offers special industry solutions for international media and press distribution at its location in Frankfurt amongst other things. For large publishing houses we organize the airfreight transportation of different press products worldwide via Frankfurt Airport. Of course the time factor plays a decisive role delivering daily newspapers or magazines because tourists in Egypt like being up to date. Because we have to register shipments to non-European countries and countries with a special financial status at the designated customs authorities using the electronic Atlas export system we count on our efficient IT for a smooth process.

      		Where do you use Scope?

For Logwin Solutions Media GmbH Riege developed an individual solution. Based on the software solution Scope Atlas Export the program is directly integrated into the ERP systems of our customers. That allows us to access and obtain all shipment-relevant data automated from their IT systems. In addition, with Scope we are able to transmit data automatically to all participants in the export process – from the customer to customs and to airline or consignee. The different steps up to the export confirmation are permanently re-transmitted to the customer’s IT. That means high transparency. Half a dozen of our employees process about 40,000 to 50,000 export notifications per year with the software of Riege.

Are you satisfied with the product?

In our experience Scope works with high precision. That is the determining factor for us and results in not only our own satisfaction with the software solution but also that of our customers.

Which solution did you use before and why did you change?

Well, one cannot really talk about a change here. For many years now we have been working together successfully with Riege and because of the positive experiences we decided to use Scope when the obligatory conversion to the electronic Atlas export system was introduced by customs authorities. Of course with the new program we were very well prepared for the change. That was also appreciated by our customers.

Was Scope especially helpful in a specific situation?

Before the conversion to Atlas a lot of our customers took care of their paper export applications themselves. With Scope we are able to take over all necessary steps electronically. That saves not only time but also money and we can process high shipment volumes even when there are volume fluctuations equally quickly, safely and at an inexpensive price.

Scope at alpha trans

Josef Pointner, Head of IT at alpha trans in Munich, February 2010

Herr Pointner, what exactly is the business of alpha trans?

For 30 years the freight forwarding company alpha trans with headquarters in Munich has been an experienced partner for air freight, sea freight and logistics. As a subsidiary of the Barth + Co. Group, one of the market leaders in textile and lifestyle logistics in Europe, our customers benefit from four other branches in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. In Germany alpha trans has 80 employees and cooperates with partners in business centers worldwide. Our competence is based on the textile logistics sector. Renowned companies in the textile and lifestyle industry such as Gore, Escada and Patek Philippe are among our customers. In addition to logistics for garments, fashion and lifestyle articles we handle the transportation of household goods, information and telecommunications technology, along with parts for mechanical engineering, for medical and sanitary technology as well as for the entertainment industry.

      		Where do you use Scope?

One of our priorities is air and sea freight transportation. Therefore we need an efficient transport management system covering export, import and customs. At alpha trans 65 users apply Scope from Riege Software International for export and import processing of air and sea freight as well as for customs clearance (AES, EZA, NCTS und SumA). At our Munich airport branch alone, for instance, we process around 800 customs declarations assignments with Scope. In addition, 15 users at Barth + Co. use the new software system.

Are you satisfied with the product?

As the pilot customer we have accompanied Scope’s specification, development and implementation right from the start. We witnessed how within a short period of time an initially limited range of functions turned into a full forwarding and customs software which we can apply in all of our sectors. We have cooperated with Riege Software since 1995. Until now our experience with the company has been very positive. From our point of view Scope also has great potential in the future because the modular system is platform-independent and provides a modern technology basis as well as a wide range of functions. We also profit from the system’s standard interfaces. Data exchange with other systems such as our accounting program is therefore much easier. Another advantage is the intuitive user interface which allows easy handling and operation. Furthermore it offers new advantageous features such as search & find.

Which solution did you use before and why did you change?

Since 1995 we had used the Procars software from Riege Software for handling, operation and administration of our shipping assignments. Over the years it grew into a complex IT infrastructure with company data on several internal and external platforms. The increasing complexity and maintenance intensity resulted in rising costs. In order to simplify and modernize company processes we were looking for a new future-proof logistics software program which would handle all required processes within one solution. After the tendering procedure in November 2007 we decided to trust further in our long-term partner Riege Software and jointly develop a solution. It was especially attractive for us to have the opportunity to assist in the process of creating new software by contributing ideas and specifications. The final tip to the scale was our internal requirement to cut costs.

Was Scope especially helpful in a specific situation?

After the operational start of the system on August 1st, 2008, the employees got used to the new system within a short period of time. Thanks to the solution’s intuitive menu navigation we were able to save high training costs and implementation time because even inexperienced users were able to operate Scope intuitively. I also really appreciate the fact that we have all our data available at a glance, that it is also possible to open several assignments parallel for processing and that we can access all the data immediately during evaluation.
