Strategic Joint Venture between Freight Forwarding Software Market Leaders DAKOSY and Riege Software

On June 05, 2003 the Joint Venture between DAKOSY AG and Riege Software International GmbH was completed: From now on the two market leading software houses for Freight Forwarding IT-Applications cooperate closely. The result of the joint development will be an integrated software solution for air and sea freight handling for the international freight forwarding and logistics industry. With DAKOSY AG and Riege Software International GmbH two market leaders combine their strengths: DAKOSY AG is market leader for national sea freight operations with 800 customers. Riege Software Int. is market leader for international air and sea freight operations with more than 400 installations world wide.
On the basis of the excellent business expertise of both partners a joint top class team will now develop a completely new integrated freight forwarding software solution, which will be presented in a first release to the German and the international market as early as 2004.
Platform independence, modern user interfaces and a high degree of integration as well as world wide usability in the areas of sea and air freight logistics will characterise the future IT product.
The president of the executive board of DAKOSY AG, Volkhard Erdelbrock sees great potential in this partnership: "Through the synchronisation and bundling of the know how, DAKOSY AG and Riege Software International GmbH will be able to develop their current market position and their competitive advantage into a world-wide market leadership". In the same way, Johannes Riege, the managing partner of Riege Software International GmbH, sees the joint venture as a strategic decision: "The existing JAVA orientation of both partners (J2EE based multi tier architecture) and many common customers compliment each other in a perfect way and create the ideal basis for successful cooperation. Shortly, we will be able to fulfil the desire of the international market for an integrated high value sea- and air freight solution which uses the most modern software technologies."
